The Internal Affairs Division of the Sri Lanka Customs Department, tasked with receiving and investigating public complaints, was inaugurated by Minister of State for Finance Ranjith Siambalapitiya.
The Minister stated that the aim of this unit is to enhance the relationship between the public and Customs.
He noted that the Customs Department had surpassed its revenue targets and was performing a unique role for the country, leading to both praise and criticism.
The Minister emphasized that this unit will strengthen the connection between the public and the department and indicated that a similar system would be introduced to local revenue and excise departments in the future.
