Actor's wife arrested over financial fraud

A 37-year-old woman, reportedly the ex-wife of popular actor Kavinga Perera, was arrested by immigration officials at Katunayake Airport this morning.

The arrest followed a travel ban imposed by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court due to financial fraud charges.

The woman, a resident of Kurunegala and doctor, was detained at 8:50 a.m. after arriving from New Delhi, India, on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-192.

After her arrest, she was handed over to the Katunayake Airport Police, who subsequently transferred her to the Kollupitiya Police in Colombo for further legal proceedings.
