Popular singer K. Sujeewa, who was undergoing treatment at the Colombo National Hospital after being injured in the shooting at Athurugiriya, has recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
She received treatment in a paid ward at the hospital following several surgeries.
Two persons including Surendra Wasantha Perera alias ’Club Wasantha’ were killed and several persons including singer Sujeewa have been hospitalised following the shooting in Athurugiriya on July 8.
Hospital sources said that Sujeewa initially received treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was subsequently discharged based on medical advice as her leg injuries showed improvement.
Meanwhile, the wife of Club Wasantha is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital.
