Sri Lanka records over one million tourist arrivals in 2024

As of July 18, 2024, Sri Lanka has welcomed a total of 1,019,642 tourists this year, according to the latest figures from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). 

The first week of July saw 43,083 tourist arrivals, followed by 42,343 in the second week. The first four days of the third week added another 23,967 visitors.

Indian tourists have made the most significant impact, with 27,574 arrivals up to July 18, accounting for 25.2% of the total. 

The SLTDA also reported substantial numbers of tourists from the United Kingdom, China, Germany, and the Netherlands.
