Scott Morrison, the former Prime Minister of Australia, has praised Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, emphasizing its significant potential for growth, especially due to its unique culinary offerings.

Morrison made these remarks during an event in Mount Lavinia, where he showcased his appreciation for Sri Lankan cuisine.

Accompanied by his wife, Jenny, Morrison demonstrated his culinary skills by preparing two of his favorite Sri Lankan dishes: mud crab curry and chicken curry, both made with local spices. The event was also attended by the Australian Deputy High Commissioner in Colombo, Lalita Kapur.

Morrison arrived in Sri Lanka for a vacation on July 17 and will be staying until July 25. During his visit, he also participated as the Guest of Honour at the Sri Lanka Human Capital Summit 2024 on July 18.
