Chamari Atapattu to captain in T20 Asia Cup 2024

Dynamic all-rounder Chamari Atapattu has been named captain of the Sri Lanka team for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024, set to commence on July 19 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. 

The 15-member squad, selected by the Cricket Selection Committee and approved by Minister of Sports Harin Fernando, will compete against full-member teams Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, along with Malaysia, UAE, Thailand, and Nepal.

The tournament will begin with the UAE facing Nepal at 2:00 p.m. and India taking on Pakistan at 7:00 p.m. Sri Lanka's first match will be against Bangladesh on July 20 at 7:00 p.m. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on July 26, with the final scheduled for July 28.
