Aranayake police have arrested four suspects linked to a 6-year old child beating incident that surfaced on social media.
Two grandmothers of the child were arrested for assault, while the child's mother and another grandmother were arrested for abetting the crime.
The suspects, aged 42 to 78, will appear in the Mawanella Magistrate's Court today (17). The child will be placed in the custody of the father and examined by the Mawanella Forensic Doctor.
