On the instructions of President Ranil Wickramasinghe, the 'Youth Vision 2048' team started the program to find out the needs of the young people with special needs living in our society and to provide them with the support they need.

Mr. Sagala Ratnayake observed the activities of the two colleges and engaged in amicable discussions with the children principle Mrs.Anusha Fernando and teachers, adding more value to the courses currently being run in the college for the blind &deafin Rathmalana and coordinated the relevant institutions to study the courses related to NVQ 3 and 4 level and made the necessary arrangements.

He also instructed the relevant authorities to provide the necessary facilities to expand the higher education and sports activities of the students studying in these colleges, and in the future, with the Minister of Education and related officials regarding the G.E.C. higher level and higher education of children with special needs. Mr. Sagala Ratnayake said  that they will discuss and prepare a permanent program.

In addition to this, he further mentioned that the government will pay special attention to the education centers of children with special needs located all over the island and prepare a program at the state level to streamline their educational activities, and work to prepare the necessary policies promptly.
