First death reported in train strike incident

The first death due to the ongoing train strike was reported after two commuters fell from a train which was heavily crowded in the Batuwatta-Bemmulla area, the Railways Department said. 

The train was traveling from Colombo Fort to Polgahawela when the passengers fell while riding on the footboard. 

One person was killed and another injured in the accident, caused by the overcrowded train.
