A team of UN representatives inspected the ongoing excavations and investigations of the Kokkutuduvai mass grave in Mullaitivu. 

The current Stage IV of the excavations has already uncovered several skeletal remains and parts of a uniform. 

The work is being carried out by Senior Professor of Archaeology Raj Somadeva and JMO Kanakasabhapathi Wasudeva of Mullaitivu General Hospital, under the supervision of Mullaitivu Magistrate Dharmalingam Pradeepan. 

The JMO reported that 40 skeletal remains have been found to date and have been handed over to Mullaitivu Hospital for protection in a special cubicle.
