Court orders probe into 'OnmaxDT' pyramid scheme

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered an investigation into the loss of investments by the depositors of 'OnmaxDT', believed to be a pyramid scheme, with a detailed report due on August 7.

This order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage when the case was heard today (9th).

During the proceedings, the directors of 'OnmaxDT' submitted depositor details to the court.

The state counsel for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) revealed information about two similar illegal investment schemes.

The Magistrate ordered the CID to investigate further, arrest the suspects involved, and present them before the court.

The case was adjourned until August 7.
