Sri Lanka is set to introduce a new high-performance fuel, XP100, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of luxury cars and motorcycles on its roads.

This premium 100 Octane petrol, developed domestically in India, promises improved engine efficiency, acceleration, and fuel economy.

According to a senior official from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the shipment of XP100 fuel arrived at Sri Lanka's ports from Mumbai's Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust on May 18th. The introduction of XP100 marks a significant advancement in Sri Lanka's fuel offerings, catering specifically to high-end vehicles known for their stringent performance requirements.

XP100, manufactured using Indian Oil's proprietary Octamax technology, is designed to deliver faster acceleration, smoother driving experiences, and reduced engine deposits. These features not only enhance vehicle performance but also contribute to longer engine life and decreased maintenance needs.

While acknowledging the advantages of XP100, officials noted that its pricing would reflect its premium quality compared to standard fuels available in the market. The fuel's formulation is optimized for high compression ratio engines, promising lower emissions alongside enhanced performance metrics.
