The opening of Sandahiru Maha Se Poson Zone was held under the patronage of Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) in Anuradhapura on Poson Poya day (21st June 2024). The occasion was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Additionally, the Dansal and devotional song programmes organized for pilgrims visiting the Poson Zone were carried out with the support and participation of the tri-forces. Aloka Puja and Poson Pandals as well as other decorations added more colour and glamour to the 'Sandahiru Maha Se Poson Zone
