The Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools across the island will operate as usual tomorrow, June 24.
This announcement was made in a statement issued this afternoon.
Despite the Ministry's assurance, non-academic staff in government schools have declared a trade union action, planning to report sick on Monday and Tuesday, June 24 and 25. Their protest seeks the establishment of a national policy for non-academic service within the education sector.
In a related development, university non-academic staff have been on strike for over 50 days. They have presented the State Minister of Higher Education with the necessary written agreements to address their minimum demands.
The University Trade Union Joint Committee (UTUJC) indicated that the strike could end tomorrow if the government provides a favorable response to their requests.
