Let us all come together to build a prosperous Sri Lanka by addressing our political, social, and economic challenges through the Dharma path taught by Mihindu Maharahathan Thero.

Poson is the sacred day honoured and celebrated by Sri Lankan Buddhists, marking the arrival of Mihindu Maharahathan Thero to our motherland with the message of the Buddha. This momentous event subsequently paved the way for the genesis of our national culture and heritage.

The spiritual and socio-political dialogues that gave rise to a self-sufficient economy and a spiritually enriched society—centred around our sacred reservoirs, fertile lands, and stupas—began with the arrival of Mihindu Maharahathan Thero on Poson Poya day. He can be revered as the founder who illuminated the worldly path for us in this blessed land.

In this auspicious moment, let us follow the timeless guidance of Mihindu Maharahathan Thero by nurturing our fertile soil and transcending our differences and ideological divides. His teachings, as conveyed in the Chulla Haththi Padopama Suttra, are crucial for shaping the governance of our nation.

May the Poson festival inspire us all, and I assure you that I am committed to fulfilling our constitutional duty to protect and nurture Buddhism.
