Tharjini Sivalingam, renowned as one of netball's tallest and most accomplished players, exchanged vows with Indian businessman R. Prasad in a ceremony held in Chennai. 

The wedding, attended by a gathering of Sri Lankan netball players, friends, and well-wishers, marked a significant moment in the life of the former Sri Lanka Netball Captain.

At 45 years old, Tharjini Sivalingam has left an indelible mark on the sport, holding the record for the most international caps representing Sri Lanka. Her towering presence on the court has made her a standout figure in Sri Lankan netball, earning admiration both at home and abroad.

Since her debut in 2009, Tharjini has been a cornerstone of the Sri Lanka national team, participating in multiple international tournaments, including four appearances at the Netball World Cup (2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023) and several Asian Netball Championships.

Notably, Tharjini made history by becoming the oldest player ever to compete in the Netball World Cup, first at age 40 in 2019 and then at age 44 in 2023, showcasing her enduring dedication and skill in the sport.

The union between Tharjini Sivalingam and R. Prasad marks a new chapter in her life, blending her illustrious sporting career with personal happiness as she embarks on this journey with her partner.
