Elon Musk to visit Sri Lanka for Starlink launch

Elon Musk has accepted an invitation from President Ranil Wickremesinghe to visit Sri Lanka this year to launch his Starlink satellite internet service, sources reveal.

President Wickremesinghe, accompanied by his advisor on climate affairs Ruwan Wijewardene, met Musk in Bali, Indonesia, yesterday. During their meeting, they discussed renewable energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and world politics.

The exact dates of Musk's visit to Sri Lanka have not yet been finalized. The Sri Lankan government will coordinate with Musk's team to arrange the visit. 

"It all depends on how swiftly Sri Lanka expedites the approval process. Tentatively, it was discussed that Musk will arrive in Sri Lanka at the end of the year," a source said.

Musk, the billionaire head of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of the social platform X, is in Bali to launch Starlink satellite internet service.
