Three police officers arrested over bribery charges

A sergeant and two constables from the Sapugaskanda Police were arrested on suspicion of accepting a bribe of Rs. 150,000. 

The bribe was allegedly to halt legal action against an Ayurvedic medicine dealer accused of selling aphrodisiacs. 

The case unfolded when the dealer reported that the officers had raided his shop, seizing a bottle they claimed contained an aphrodisiac. 

Instead of pursuing charges, the officers demanded payment to drop the case. The investigation, led by the OIC Crime Investigation Unit of Kelaniya, under SSP Kelaniya Division's guidance, resulted in the officers' arrest. T
