House owned by Kumar Sangakkara's relative gutted by fire

A two-story house in Buwelikada, Kandy, reportedly owned by a relative of cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara, was engulfed in flames. Firefighting teams from the Kandy Municipal Council quickly responded to reports from nearby residents on Thursday night.

Fortunately, no one was inside the house when the fire erupted, but substantial damage occurred. Police suspect an electrical short circuit may have sparked the blaze. The Kandy Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara is away in India, coaching the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
