The Health Trade Union Alliance comprising 72 unions has announced a looming indefinite strike, set to commence from 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2.
According to union representatives, the strike ultimatum stems from the unresolved issues faced by the health sector.
Despite discussions held with the Health Secretary on March 18, wherein a request for a 10-day period to address grievances was made, the deadline expired on March 28.
However, a discussion has been arranged for tomorrow (01) with officials from the Finance Ministry following which the decision to go on strike will be finalized.
Furthermore, the trade unions have decided to withdraw from services tomorrow at five government hospitals.
