The Peradeniya police reported that today (29), a State minister's private secretary filed a complaint regarding an incident where a member of parliament from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna allegedly threatened her over the phone.
The police complaint outlines that a Podujana Peramuna member called her yesterday (28) and inquired about a statement regarding her alleged involvement in a sexual relationship with another individual. The caller reportedly threatened to harm her by cutting her mouth if the statement was true.
In response to these allegations, Professor Ranjith Bandara, the subject of the complaint, stated that he did indeed make a phone call to the concerned secretary but denied making any threats.
