Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western Provinces.

Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern, Uva, North-central and Northern provinces.

 Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere in the island during the afternoon or night.

 Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

 

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

  Condition of Rain:

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Galle via Batticaloa and Hambantota. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island during the afternoon or night.

Winds:

Winds will be easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (20-30)kmph.

Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from   Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.

State of Sea:

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be moderate at times.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
