A total of 15 individuals, including 7 school students, were injured when a private passenger transport bus veered off the road and overturned near Kumaradasa Junction on the Wellawaya – Thanamalwila main road.
All injured individuals, including the schoolchildren and the bus driver, have been admitted to Wellawaya Base Hospital for treatment, as reported by Ada Derana.
Police suspect that the accident was caused by a sudden ailment suffered by the bus driver. Wellawaya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
