Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, who is currently in remand custody for his alleged involvement in the import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections, has filed a bail application with the Colombo High Court.

Through his lawyer, Rambukwella has requested the Colombo High Court to grant him bail under whatever conditions the court deems appropriate.

In his application, Rambukwella claimed that the Maligakanda Magistrate had repeatedly denied bail without valid reasons and issued remand orders without sufficient grounds.

The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court recently extended the remand of Rambukwella and ten others until March 28 in connection with this case.
