Commander of the Army Visits ‘Ranaviru Sevana’

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, together with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), visited the Ragama �Ranaviru Sevana� on 14 March 2024 to inquire about the wellbeing of resident War Heroes undergoing treatments.

In accordance with military traditions, troops presented the formal Drive Pass salute to the day’s chief guest upon arrival, followed by a resident War Hero welcomed the Commander of the Army.

Commencing the visit, the Commander of the Army, together with the ASVU President, proceeded to the hospital ward, personally inquired about the wellbeing of the residents and distributed special gift parcels.

Afterwards, all the attendees moved into the Auditorium for the main event. A welcome speech marked the commencement of the programme, followed by a tea arrangement where the Commander of the Army engaged closely with the inmates.

Later on, the President, ASVU donated essential accessories required to the ‘Ranaviru Sevana’.

At the end of the programme, Brigadier W.D.M. Kumarasinghe RSP, the Commandant of Ragama ‘Ranaviru Sevana,’ presented a special memento to the Commander of the Army, which was reciprocated

Before leaving the premises, the Commander of the Army penned down a complimentary note in the visitors’ book.

Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Chief of Staff, Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, the Deputy Chief of Staff and a few other Senior Officers joined the Commander's visit.
