Six suspects have been remanded until March 14 by Kesbewa Acting Magistrate Ishara Jayakody following the arrest of the 27 suspects during a birthday party in Homagama.
They were remanded after ieight individuals including five youths who were found to be in possession of drugs and three women who were suspected of engaging in prostitution in the party were presented before the Kesbewa Court.
The Magistrate also requested a medical report to determine the STD status of the three women.
Two other youths among those eight suspects were released on bail. Police found 20 milligrams of cannabis (hush), drug pills and a car in possession of these suspects. A university student was also among the remanded suspects. Police investigations revealed that the apartment where the party took place had been recently rented by the suspects for Rs.45,000. The remaining 19 suspects were released on bail.
