The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, is set to embark on an official visit to Sri Lanka from February 19th to 21st, 2024.

This diplomatic mission comes in response to an invitation extended by Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Sabry.

During his visit, Dr. Amir Abdollahian is slated to engage in courtesy meetings with President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. Additionally, official discussions are scheduled to take place with Minister Ali Sabry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The upcoming visit holds significance as it marks a continuation of bilateral engagements between the two nations. In August 2023, Minister Ali Sabry held productive discussions with Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian during his official visit to Tehran.

Accompanying Dr. Amir Abdollahian will be a delegation comprising senior officials from the office of the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy, and other pertinent ministries of Iran. This visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepen their diplomatic ties and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.
