Brazilian President Lula da Silva has accepted an invitation extended by his Sri Lankan counterpart to visit the South Asian nation. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brazil revealed this significant announcement through a press release.
During the commemoration of Sri Lanka's 76th Independence Day at the Sri Lankan embassy last week, Secretary for Asia and Pacific of the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Eduardo Paes Saboia, conveyed President Lula da Silva's acceptance of the invitation. Ambassador Saboia highlighted President Lula da Silva's keenness to embark on his official visit to Sri Lanka in the near future.
Reflecting on the productive interactions between the leaders of both nations in Dubai on the sidelines of COP28 in December 2023, Ambassador Saboia emphasized the potential for further enhancing the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Brazil in the coming year.
