Addressing the Anuradhapura District Women's Convention, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake revealed that the opposition's reaction to their recent Indian visit has left them astonished, hinting at even more unexpected developments in the pipeline.

Dissanayake emphasized that the NPP is ushering in a new era characterized by unforeseen events.

In a pointed remark, Dissanayake questioned how information about their Indian visit had leaked, suggesting it may have come from rival political camps. He asserted that the opposition's astonishment stemmed from their assumption that they alone held the capability to engage with India in such a manner.

Furthermore, Dissanayake highlighted the surprise among opposition circles regarding the concept of the women's convention, underscoring the unexpected emergence of women's empowerment initiatives.

Dissanayake also hinted at the formation of various alliances against the NPP's momentum, noting the convergence of political opponents such as Mahinda-Chandrika, Maithripala-Mahinda, and Ranil-Chandrika.

He speculated that Sajith's absence from this coalition was due to personal rivalry with Ranil, suggesting that otherwise, he would have aligned with them.
