Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo, delivered a compelling message during a special service at All Saint's Church in Borella, addressing the pressing need to liberate the country from what he described as oppressive leadership.

On the occasion of Sri Lanka's 76th Independence Day, the Cardinal asserted that the nation has not only suffered economically but has also been subject to political challenges.

He went on to express concerns about the current state of the country, criticizing the apparent disconnect between the celebration of freedom and the stark realities faced by the population.
