The Sri Lanka Navy sized around 300kg of heroin and crystal methamphetamine ('Ice') from a multi-day fishing trawler intercepted off the southern coast of the island.
The operation, jointly conducted by the Navy and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), occurred on Thursday night (Jan.05).
Alongside the substantial drug confiscation, six individuals on board the vessel were apprehended during the operation.
The trawler, along with the suspects and the seized drugs, has been brought ashore to Galle Harbour this morning (Jan.05).
Ongoing investigations into the incident are being conducted by both the Navy and the Police Narcotic Bureau.
