The Cabinet of Ministers has given the green light to the implementation of Electronic Transaction Orders (e-Grama Niladhari Information System) No. 1 of 2022 earlier this week.
This approval marks a significant step toward utilizing electronic documents and reports for availing services from District Secretariats, Divisional Secretaries, and Grama Niladhari Officers.
Crafted by the Minister of Technology in accordance with the Electronic Transactions Act No. 19 of 2006, the electronic transaction orders (e-Grama Niladhari Information System) No. 1 of 2022 were officially published in the extraordinary gazette notification No. 2311/40 dated December 22, 2022.
Sri Lanka is actively pursuing a digital transformation, evidenced by its commitment to amending regulations that facilitate electronic transactions, bolster cybersecurity, and encourage the widespread use of digital platforms for diverse services.
