In a surprising turn of events, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) parliamentarian Shan Wijayalal de Silva has announced his decision to throw his support behind the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), signaling a significant shift in political alliances.
Tissa Attanayake, the National Organizer of SJB, revealed the development and shared that Wijayalal has concurrently been appointed as the chief organizer for the Ambalangoda electorate under the SJB banner.
The formalities of this transition were completed as Wijayalal received his party membership and letter of appointment directly from SJB leader and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa earlier this morning (01). Wijayalal, a senior member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), had previously secured a seat in the Parliament during the last general election, representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
