A total of 1,554 suspects have been arrested, and 82 of them are under further investigation with detention orders in place following the island-wide special operation 'Yukthiya', the police said.
They said 590g of heroin, 1.3kgs of ICE drug, 06 kgs and 300g of cannabis, 4104 cannabis plants, 505g of Mawa and 119 of narcotic pills were taken into police custody in a 30-hour operation conducted from Friday (29) to this morning (30).
Two suspects are under investigation for illegal assets, and 62 drug addicts have been directed to rehabilitation centers.
The Police Narcotics Bureau and the Special Bureau have arrested 128 suspects out of 4,665 individuals listed as island re-convicted criminals.
