President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa engaged in heated arguments over various matters in Parliament today.
During the exchange, the Opposition Leader alleged that those managing microphones and video cameras were not acting impartially.
"The individuals handling the microphones and video cameras are not acting impartially. Please instruct the Chair to ensure proper videography. I observe these proceedings, and it is unfair. Please don't be prejudiced and partial," he expressed.
In response, the President, who stood up, concurred, saying, "Honorable Chair, I agree with him. Please keep the cameras on him at all times. Don't focus on me."
The Opposition Leader responded, "Mr. President, this is not the UNP working committee. Don't twist my words. I never said that. Don't misinterpret what I said."
The President clarified, "I am making a request. Cameras should be on you all the time."
