Four men sentensed to death over murder case in 2005

The Balapitiya High Court has handed down death sentences to four individuals in connection with the 2005 murder of a man and the injury of another in Pitigala. 

Following an extensive trial, the court issued the verdict yesterday, police said.

They said the four convicted individuals, residents of Dehiwala, Moratuwa, and Polonnaruwa, were found guilty of hacking one man to death and causing injuries to another. 

The crime took place during an illegal meeting at Amugoda in Pitigala in 2005.
