Heavy showers about 75mm likely at some places

After 1.00 pm in many parts of the island there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms.

In some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Southern and Western provinces, mm. A slight chance of showers around 75.

Some places in the Western Province and Puttalam district may also experience rain in the morning.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR SEA AREAS 

Condition of Rain:

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the Island particularly during the afternoon or night.

Winds:

Winds will be North-easterly or variable in direction over the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.

State of Sea: 

The sea areas around the island will be slight.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
