Shen Yiqin, the Special Envoy and State Councillor of Chinese President Xi Jinping, is set to embark on a visit to Sri Lanka from November 18 to 21. 

This visit comes as a result of an invitation extended by the Sri Lankan government.

Prior to her visit to Sri Lanka, Shen will also be visiting the Maldives from November 15 to 18. During her time there, she will attend the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president on November 17 in Male. This announcement was made by China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, on Monday.

It is important to note that Shen's visit to the Maldives is being made at the invitation of President-elect Mohamed Muizzu.
