A 37-year-old woman tragically lost her life when an earth mound collapsed onto her fruit store, a result of adverse weather conditions, in the Rambukwella area of Kand-Mahiyangana Road in Theldeniya last night.
The victim, identified as the owner of the fruit store, was buried by the mound. With the assistance of local residents, the police uncovered the woman and rushed her to Theldeniya Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased was a resident of Rambukwella in Theldeniya.
