Train services on the up-country line have experienced disruption following a derailment incident this afternoon (Oct. 30), as confirmed by the Department of Railways.
The incident occurred between the Kinigama and Heel Oya railway stations around 11:45 a.m., causing a commuter train traveling from Badulla to Colombo to derail.
Authorities are currently working diligently to restore train services on the up-country line as quickly as possible, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers, according to the department.
