In the month of August 2023, Sri Lanka experienced a slight decline in workers' remittances compared to July 2023. 

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) reported that remittances received in August amounted to USD 499.2 million, whereas in July 2023, the inflows reached USD 541 million. 

However, despite this monthly decrease, there has been an overall improvement in workers' remittances from January to August 2023. 

The cumulative figure for this period stood at USD 3,862.7 million, representing a significant increase of 74.4% compared to the same period in 2022.
