Several bank accounts belonging to Rakitha Rajapakshe, son of former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, have been suspended under laws relating to proceeds of crime.
The action has been taken in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
As part of the investigation, a team of Commission officers visited Rakitha Rajapakshe’s residence in Nawala yesterday to serve a notice informing him of the suspension of the accounts.
However, the Commission stated that he was not at home when the officers arrived to deliver the notice.
