According to the Department’s Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, the advisory applies to multi-day fishing boats operating in the deep-sea areas of the Bay of Bengal.
Naval personnel and fishing communities operating in the affected sea areas have been advised to remain vigilant due to the developing weather conditions.
The Department has also urged fishermen and naval personnel to closely monitor weather forecasts and advisories issued in the coming days for further updates.
The yellow-level advisory was issued at 9.30 a.m. today (October 29) and will remain in effect for 24 hours, until 9.30 a.m. tomorrow (October 30).
