Nearly 100 houses have been damaged by strong winds that swept through the Iranawila area in Mahawewa, Chilaw, the Mahawewa Divisional Secretary has stated.
The sudden gusts caused significant damage to the roofs of numerous houses and other buildings in the area.
Restoration work is currently underway to bring the affected areas back to normal, while relief assistance is also being provided to those impacted by the incident.
