The Department of Meteorology has warned that showers or thundershowers may occur in the sea areas off the coast from Negombo to Galle via Colombo.
The department stated that temporary strong winds reaching speeds of 60–70 kmph may occur in these sea areas during thundershowers, causing the seas to become temporarily very rough.
Accordingly, the fishing and naval communities engaged in activities in these sea areas have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
