Twenty Sri Lankan small and medium-sized enterprises showcased a wide range of products and services at the Hotel Asia Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge Maldives 2026, held from September 28 to 30 at the Hulhumalé Synthetic Track in the Maldives.

The participation was facilitated by the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Maldives in partnership with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially opened by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Maldives, Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, following the inauguration of the exhibition by Maldives’ Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen.

The participating companies represented sectors including food and beverages, spices and condiments, tea and herbal products, software and IT-enabled services, Ayurvedic and wellness products, hotel amenities, lifestyle products, commercial refrigeration, food service equipment, and wooden, stainless steel and acrylic products.

Throughout the three-day exhibition, the Sri Lanka Pavilion attracted Maldivian government officials, private sector representatives and industry association leaders interested in exploring potential business partnerships with the participating Sri Lankan companies.

The High Commission and the Export Development Board also facilitated business meetings between the Sri Lankan SMEs, the Maldives Business Chamber and potential business partners.

In addition, meetings were coordinated with several Maldivian government institutions, including the Ministries of Economic Development, Transport and Trade; Tourism and Civil Aviation; Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources; and Maldives Ports Limited.

The 20th edition of the Hotel Asia Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge provided Sri Lankan businesses with an opportunity to expand their presence in the Maldivian market and explore new trade and business collaborations.
