Sri Lanka has been ranked among the top 10 countries in the world for the fastest improvement in travel and tourism development between 2024 and 2026, according to the 2026 Travel and Tourism Development Index released by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Sri Lanka ranked 10th globally, recording a 4.33% increase in its Travel and Tourism Development Index score compared to 2024.
Albania topped the list with a 7.0% increase in its index score, followed by Vietnam and Laos, which recorded increases of 6.3% and 6.1%, respectively.
The ranking highlights Sri Lanka’s continued progress in strengthening its travel and tourism sector and improving its overall tourism development performance.
