The Government Information Department has announced that passengers can purchase railway tickets online amid the ongoing railway trade union strike.
According to a statement issued by the department, tickets can be purchased through the Pravesha website at www.pravesha.lk or via the Pravesha mobile application.
The facility has been introduced as ticket issuance has been disrupted at many railway stations due to the strike launched by the Railway Joint Trade Union Alliance over several demands, including the removal of the General Manager of Railways.
The online ticketing facility is intended to provide an alternative for passengers affected by the disruption.
