The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced reductions in the prices of furnace oil and naphtha, effective from tomorrow.

CPC Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara said the price of a litre of furnace oil will be reduced by Rs. 38, while the price of a litre of naphtha will be reduced by Rs. 35.

Accordingly, the price of furnace oil will decrease from Rs. 248 to Rs. 210 per litre.

Meanwhile, Minister of Power and Energy Anura Karunathilaka said steps will be taken to pass the benefit of these price reductions on to the public.

He said the relief resulting from the reductions will be reflected in the upcoming electricity tariff revision.
