Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha has met the Most Ven. Mahanayake Theros of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters in Kandy and sought their blessings for further strengthening relations between India and Sri Lanka.
In a social media post, Jha said he paid his respects to the senior Buddhist prelates and sought their blessings for strengthening the fraternal relationship between the two countries.
He also briefed the Mahanayake Theros on India’s ongoing support for Sri Lanka’s development efforts following the recent cyclone, while providing an update on several bilateral initiatives.
According to Jha, a number of planned and ongoing projects between India and Sri Lanka are expected to deliver significant benefits to the people of Sri Lanka.
India and Sri Lanka continue to cooperate on a range of development and infrastructure projects, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening longstanding ties between the two countries.
